We’re halfway to Halloween! To make the milestone even more exciting, this year Spirit Halloween is celebrating our 40th anniversary.
At Spirit, we don’t believe there’s any bad day to dress up in costumes, put giant spider decorations on display, or indulge in a bucket full of candy. After all, one day a year is simply not enough time to experience all the magic Halloween has to offer. And when we’re exactly halfway to Halloween, we can’t help but feel a heightened sense of longing for crisp fall air and glowing jack-o’-lanterns.
This year, Spirit Halloween will be making a few very exciting announcements in the days leading up to Halfway to Halloween! Keep an eye on your inbox and our website for more information. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this.
In the meantime, here are just a few ways to conjure up the spooky spirit right now:
Plan Your Next Costume
Step outside of your costume comfort zone this year! Did you know we have inflatable costumes, dozens of skeleton styles, and hundreds of masks? Start planning your Halloween costume early to guarantee that yours is the one that keeps everyone talking for months.
Serve up a Spooky Snack
Layer cubed pineapple, orange slices, and whipped cream in lowball glasses and garnish with candy corn. This vibrant yellow, orange, and white snack makes for a healthy and refreshing treat. Our blog is full of scary-good Halloween party snack inspo, so be sure to check it out.
Pick a Décor Theme
Waiting until October to start planning your Halloween décor is a recipe for disaster. Avoid the stress of last-minute decorating by choosing a décor theme now! After all, it’s never too early to start decorating for Halloween.
Are you into gothic noir décor like blood-red roses and black crows, or do bright orange pumpkins get your spirit soaring? The sooner you choose a décor theme, the more time you’ll have to collect the perfect pieces to decorate your home.
Read a Horror Book
There’s no better way to enter a spooky state of mind than to crack open a good horror book. Ask your friends to recommend the scariest books they’ve ever read! When you’re immersed in a Stephen King novel, even the sunniest of summer days can seem ominous.
Make a Halloween Scrapbook
You probably have a ton of Halloween pictures from various stages of your life. Collect as many photos as you can and make physical prints of digital ones. Arrange them in a scrapbook chronologically, adding festive stickers and colorful paper to each page. Your friends and family will love to flip through your Halloween scrapbook every October!
Host a Horror Movie Night
Horror movies are thrilling, but they’re much more fun to watch when you’re not alone. Host a horror movie night at your house complete with popcorn, horror-themed blankets and pillows, and your favorite people.
Read the Spirit Halloween Blog
If you’re here, you’re obviously a fan of Spirit Halloween’s blog! But what you might not know is just how much haunting content we have to offer. Some of our scariest posts involve vampire facts, urban legends, and real-life ghost encounters. Have you read them all?
Play a Chilling Game
Dim the lights, light some candles, and let the creepy Halloween games begin! Dedicate a night to using your Ouija board and playing games like IT Monopoly.
Visit a Haunted Site
Grab a few trusted friends and flashlights. Wait until nightfall and hop in the car to visit a notoriously haunted place. If you’re close to Pennsylvania, consider a trip to the Eastern State Penitentiary or Gettysburg. If you’re lucky enough to be in Colorado, you can visit the Stanley Hotel! Check out some of our favorite haunted sites in the United States.
Tell Scary Stories Around a Campfire
When told by moonlight and the gentle glow of a campfire, scary stories are just so much scarier. Share your most chilling tales, whether from personal experience or inspired by urban legend, around a campfire. Who among your friends will be brave enough to join you?
Happy Halfway to Halloween! Stay tuned for exciting announcements during the week of April 24th and beyond.
